En 2004 la prestigiosa Mcfarlane Toys lanzaba al mercado una nueva serie de figuras dentro la colección Movie Maniacs, que en esta ocasión era la 7ª edición, centrada en Aliens, Robocop y el remake de La matanza de Texas (2003).
Por descontado, como buen friki que soy, corrí hacia la tienda para conseguir las estupendas figuras de Hicks (mi santo patrón) y Robocop (una de mis películas favoritas..), pero desconocía que más podría encontrarme…….
In 2004 the prestigious Mcfarlane Toys launched to market a new series of figures in the Movie Maniacs collection, which this time was the 7th edition, focused on Aliens, Robocop and the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003).
Of course, as a good geek that I am, I ran to the store to get the great figures of Hicks (my patron saint) and Robocop (one of my favorite movies ..), but did not know what else I could find .......
Antes de lanzarme de cabeza, me gustaría alabar el trabajo realizado por la empresa del señor Mcfarlane, “regalándonos” siempre unas figuras sumamente detalladas y con un acabado general que suele rozar lo sublime. Existen muchas empresas centradas en lo que se conoce como “figuras Premium”, con elegantes catálogos cuya calidad es acompañada de un precio acorde: Muy elevado.
En cambio, Mcfarlane Toys siempre ha mantenido un balance de calidad/precio muy de agradecer, sin nada que envidiarle a otras grandes marcas y situando sus costes siempre cercanos a 30€ (Al menos en España, pues en EE.UU es fácil conseguir las mismas figuras por apenas 20$).
Before launching into the pool, I would like to praise the work done by the company of Mr. McFarlane, "giving us" always a highly detailed figures and an overall finish often verge on the sublime. There are many companies focused on what is known as "Premium figures", with elegant catalogs whose quality is accompanied by a price in line: Very high.
Instead, McFarlane Toys has always maintained a balance of quality / price very welcome, with nothing to envy to other big brands and placing near always costs 30 € (At least in Spain, as in the U.S. is easy to get same figures for just 20$).

Es cierto que jamás nos encontraremos con el acabado de impresión que ofrecen los fabricantes del tipo Kotobukiya, o similares, cuya perfección se debe en gran medida a las resinas que utilizan para el tallado (sea industrial o artesanal), pero apartando de la ecuación a materiales tan nobles, Mcfarlane es lo mejor que existe en cuanto a “plásticos vulgares”.
Volviendo al asunto que corresponde, y tras visualizar las figuras que buscaba, encontré muy cerca de las mismas toda una retaila de reproducciones basadas en el remake de La matanza de Texas, con personajes y escenarios de un acabado impresionante pero, y os seré sincero a más no poder, ese remake no era un film santo de mi devoción (aunque me gustó la ambientación).
It is true that we never find print finishing offered by manufacturers Kotobukiya type, or the like, whose perfection is due largely to the resins used for carving (whether industrial or artisanal), but aside from the equation noble materials, Mcfarlane is the best in terms of "vulgar plastics".
Returning to the matter for, and after seeing the figures I wanted, I found very close to the same whole series of plays based on the remake of The Texas massacre, with characters and settings but an impressive finish, and I'll be honest to could be, that was not a film remake my cup of tea (although I liked the atmosphere).

Independientemente de mis gustos fílmicos, las figuras seguían siendo geniales y me enamoré, sobre todo de la genial representación de Leatherface, que lucía un detalle enorme y una pose muy acertada. Fueron 27€ muy bien gastados.
El detalle de la cara y de la ropa es excelente, así como el retrato que reproduce, en una pose amenazante que logra mostrar lo mejor de tan icónico personaje. La paleta elegida también es digna de mención, estando muy acorde a lo que nos mostraba la fotografía del film.
Regardless of my film tastes, the figures were still great and I fell in love, especially of great representation of Leatherface, who wore a huge detail and pose wise. They were € 27 very well spent.
The detail of the face and the clothes are great and so is the picture that reproduces, in a menacing pose that manages to showcase the best of such an iconic character. The palette chosen is also noteworthy, being very consistent with what we photograph showing the film.
Regardless of my film tastes, the figures were still great and I fell in love, especially of great representation of Leatherface, who wore a huge detail and pose wise. They were € 27 very well spent.

Es una figura de tamaño generoso, y viene acompañada de un exquisito escenario que le sienta muy bien, aun sin ser apreciable en su magnitud al contemplar el blister. Este “diorama” es el marco de una puerta (incluye parte de las paredes, el propio marco de madera y el suelo, junto a un fondo muy adecuado) y aun pareciendo poco imaginativo de inicio, lo cierto es que sin él, la figura pierde mucho encanto.
Hoy en día (2013) no es fácil de encontrar, aunque de importación siempre existen muchas más posibilidades de hallarla, pero es una de las mejores figuras creadas de Leatherface y uno de los mejores trabajos de Mcfarlane Toys.
It is a generous size figure, and is accompanied by an exquisite setting that suits her very well, even without being appreciably in magnitude when contemplating the blister. This "diorama" is the frame of a door (includes part of the walls, the wooden frame itself and the floor next to a very suitable background) and unimaginative even start looking, the truth is that without it, the figure lost charm.
Today (2013) is not easy to find, although there are always import far more likely to find it, but it's one of the best Leatherfaces figures created, and one of the best works from Mcfarlane Toys.
