Hablar
Speaking of Fearless is it one of the most representative films of modern cinema martial arts. Not a perfect film, and possibly not be the best work of Ronny Yu (always in the shadow of his fabulous "Lady with white hair"), but it contains some of the best scenes ever filmed within the genre and adorned with a construction history, within a historical framework very attractive.

In a way, Fearless has always seemed one more chapter in the saga of Wong Fei-hung, real character (Quite a national hero) who has been portrayed countless times by Chinese filmmakers, whose best story is in the series "Once upon a time in China", both feature films in the series and in the television series of the same name.
And I see so similar for one simple reason: Fearless tells the adventures of another national hero Huo Yuanjia, who was also known to highlight Chinese values seething Western imperialism. Giving happened that were contemporary and fought for the same cause: Strengthen Chinese traditions impositions against foreign manners.

Huo
luchando.
Huo Yuanjia (as shown in the film) went to fight against anyone with courage to challenge him, finding his greatest feats in duels who starred against foreigners who came from all over the globe. The film really does not have a comprehensive rigor, but show obsession get the fight he had in life.
Facts aside, Fearless focuses on the obsession and its consequences. Try to create a positive moral to the fight, focusing, initially, on the problems that can lead to revenge and nonsense of being the most feared, and not the most respected. The film shows us a character who has everything but ends up losing for not realizing. Huo Yuanjia have to seek redemption, plus find a noble reason to keep fighting.

Ronny Yu's work presents us with an awesome job at times, an excellent photograph and a declaration of intent at the time to show us some of their choreography (Master Work of Yuen Woo-ping). Undoubtedly, Fearless has (among other things) one of the best scenes ever filmed with knives. (The fight to death inside the restaurant).
This movie is one of the few that shows the evolution after Matrix (tape on technical issues regarding the fight choreography, left untouched the traditional martial arts movie forever), offering impeccable visual quality and immense commitment when filming the fight scenes. (After the great Wachowski film many Chinese films increased visual quality, but dwindled at "spiritual").

Xing yi quan, Yang Ling Dao, Qianj, Sansetsukon, Katana, Sable, boxeo, lucha
It is a film where a variety of styles witness melee and weapons, not insignificant: Shorin Ryu Karate, Wushu Taiji quan, dao Wushu, Wushu Xing yi quan, Yang Ling Dao, Qianj, Sansetsukon, Katana, Saber, boxing, wrestling and some more that escapes me, since many of the styles shown (melee) are difficult to interpret me.
One of the largest penalties, as the film is cut that received over 1h. There is a special edition with 40 minutes of extra footage. Even with all the cut scenes do not affect the main story, so its absence is impossible to perceive, and weighs nothing to tape. We simply lost some extra match.

For those unfamiliar with Once Upon a Time in China, Fearless can be even fresh, but so bright connoisseurs will be familiar film the setting and the character of Jet Li. (I like equally, but proving too familiar at times).
A martial arts movie you must see, yes or yes. (If you do not like the genre not understand the note).
